The First International Marina in India was commissioned at Kochi and built at a cost of `8 crore. The marina and the marina house is built as part of Bolgatty Palace Hotel, run by the KTDC. The cruisers access fuel, water, power, maintenance sewage pump-out for boats on their halt at the marina.

The marina, positioned between South East Asia and Egypt, is at an advantage due to its proximity to the international maritime route at the south west coast of the Indian Peninsula.
